"L'IRLANDA NEL CUORE,
  LA BIRRA NELLE VENE"

credits

May 1998: the weekly magazine "Avvenimenti" releases our first CD of traditional Irish songs and it is distributed all over Italy, approximately 50.000 copies.

The green cover with the logo of the band has, in the middle, the title of the CD in Italian, and the translation in English would be "Ireland in the heart, Beer in the veins", the same as what it is written in Irish around the design.

That CD is composed of 11 songs and 3 instrumentals (total running time approx.45 min.), all arranged by HER PILLOW in a folk-rock style more than in a traditional one. Almost all the songs are the ones that are usually sung in pubs and that's why most of the lyrics are about drinking and about all the weird things that happen to people that drink too much...

"HA-ROO"

credits

1st of July 1999: the same "Avvenimenti" releases our second CD of traditional Irish songs, "HA-ROO", (it contains 14 songs for about 50 min.) that takes its name from the verses of the first song ("Johnny I hardly knew ye").

"Ha-Roo" is in the whole angrier and sadly thoughtful than the first CD. This rage takes its step from the fact that history and human efforts of politics and culture do not seem to overcome the ancient divisions and the reciprocal hate that split the countries. And so we keep on staring at wars so close to us all and secular conflicts that drag along in indifference of the Nations, while people keep on dying.

From all these considerations rises the reflection upon ourselves, upon the desire to love and to be loved, the desire of drinking and dancing, just to forget... even for a while.

"DROPS"

credits

"DROPS" (2002) is the first CD from Her Pillow that contains only original songs and music.

It has been first released (November 1999) as a demo of 9 songs, then later (November 2001) has been completed and modified. Now features 11 songs written during these nine years of activity: from the earliest such as "Our Song" and "True Love Blue", to the latest one that is "R.I.P."

It has been presented in January 2002 during the 9th Birthday Party of the band.

The songs in "DROPS" were born in different times, for different reasons and with different moods.

But there is one thing that perhaps join all these songs and it is the fact that whoever wrote the words felt them deep inside, sometimes too much...Those are not happy songs because everyone of us believes that living is not so easy and only Music can bring you through...
