DROPS (1999 - 2000)

Our Song

(Mancuso)

Let Me Introduce The Band To You, Sirs

I Think The Most Of You Already Know Our Names

But There’s Something That You Could Ignore

So This Is The Whole Story And The Exhaustive Rap

We’re Here Tonight O See You And Play For You

The Music You’ll Be Hearing Is Made To Make You Move

Me And The Boys Are Playing The Tunes We Love So Well

They Come From Ireland And Scotland And From America

We Believe It Won’t Be Hard For You, People,

Forgetting Your Sorrows And Pains

Raise Your Souls For A While

Drinking Good Beer And Wine

The Only Beat You Listen Is The One From Your Heart

Just Two Hours Along This Sound And Then Live Or Die

Me And The Boys Are Playing The Tunes We Love So Well

They Come From Ireland And Scotland And From America

As You Can Plainly See

We’re Not So Hard To Please

Shouts, Calls And Claps To Show Us

You’re Satisfied By Thy

‘Cause Your Mood And Attention Pay The Efforts We All Do

This Is The Reason Why We’re So Pleased To Play For You

Me And The Boys Are Playing The Tunes We Love So Well

They Come From Ireland And Scotland And From America

"Drops" è nata in sala d'incisione mentre registravamo il demo. Le parole e la musica sono di Fabio. E’ stata praticamente arrangiata e suonata direttamente in studio durante le registrazioni del demo; anche per questo, "Drops" è diventata la title-track prima del demo e poi del CD.

Drops

(Magnasciutti F.)

I Cure. I Stroke Tonight

The Lump I Have In My Throat

For Something I Don’t Know

‘Cause My Life Is Mine Tonight

I Do Understand Tonight

We’re Looking For Each Other

And Soon We Shall Meet

‘Cause My Life Is Mine Tonight

‘T Was My Father’s, It Was My Mother’s

Forgotten Tales And Forgotten Dreams

‘T Was Your Eye’s, Hands And Mouth

And Sometime, For A While,

I Felt Life Grazing Me

And I Made Love To Her

I Feel Your Voice Tonight

Sweet Touch Of Glass

Don’t Know What You’re Saying So I Drink

‘Cause My Life Is Mine Tonight

Shout And Sing Tonight

To Me, To You, To God

We All Three Know Well

That My Life Is Mine Tonight

‘T Was The Confessor’s And His Verdict

‘T Was My Brother’s And Our Games

And The First Times Out Of Home

And Sometime, For A While,

I Felt Life Grazing Me

And I Made Love To Her

‘T Was My Good’s, It Was My Evil’s

Night Visions And Remembrances Of Us

‘T Was Your Heart’s, Soul And Flesh

And Sometime, For A While,

I Felt Life Grazing Me

And To Her Love I Made

Fa male e fa bene allo stesso tempo.

DEAD SLOW

(Mancuso – Magnasciutti R.)

do you love me?

I don’t need you any more

do you miss me?

i made a mistake

i’m sorry

I’m dying without you

we can marry and have a child

that will be wonderful as you

I’m dead and gone

do you love me?

with a pistol in my mouth

and a rope around my neck

i’d feel better

I don’t need you any more

where have you gone?

I love you

I’m nothing without you

A MEANS TO A DEATH

(Magnasciutti F. – Magnasciutti R.)

Take A Boy And A Girl

Give’em A Spring Shiver In That Night

What You’ll Get Is Love

Take A Hair And A Soap

As Long As It’s Little Wet

Don’t Part’em And What You’ll Get Is Love

Take A Man And His Sadness

Leave’em Alone For A While

Take A Man And A Woman

In Their Home Ignoring Each Other

Chewing And Stinking Everytime

And The Man And The Woman

They Don’t Fight Anymore

Anyway You Will Get Only Love

Take A Man And His Solitude

Give Them Time To Make Love

Take A Man Who Knows

There’s Nothing To Know About

And Let Him Choose Death To Make Love To

Take A Man Who Knows

There’s Never Been Nothing To Know

And Let Him Choose Death To Make Love To

Take A Man And His Death

Give Them Time To Make Love

THE WHEEL

(Forte)

poesia scritta da w. b. yeats

Through winter-time

we call on spring.

And through the spring

on summer call.

And when abounding

hedges ring

declare that winter’s

best of all;

and after that there’s

nothing good

because the spring-time

has not come

nor know that what

disturbs our blood

is but its longing

for the tomb.

SLIDING

(Mancuso – Magnasciutti R.)

Sleep on me

Cry with me

Feel the pain to be alone

Having nobody to share the tears

and to fight the disease of love

So be my lover, be my friend

Be everyone for me

or be my enemy, be my end

Be nothing to me

Feel yourself lost and

Lonely in the crowd

Is something you should never try

It’s hard to believe you don’t care for me

after all everything must die.

SLEEPY GUITAR-MAN

(MancusoMagnasciutti R.)

Wake up early in the morning, going out to work

riding in the cold streets, never going slow

finally at the desk, all the bullshit on your neck

just one hour for dinner and then begin again.

Traffic jam on the way home, same old shit today

this stuff will never change, you’re tired to be the same

that girl of yesterday was so gorgeous, this is sure!

Perhaps tonight you’ll see her and you’ll get a little more

Sleepy man, Guitar man

I know why you’re so tired

You’re working like a donkey

And you never rest a while

At night when you’re on stage

And the whiskey is flowing warm

Forget your guitar solos

But never do it wrong.

The friend of the stage have called you to warn you not to miss.

Don’t need to be reminded ‘bout your duty and your delay:

You’re trying the part of everyone, who knows the future now?

The show is big and funny, The play is working right.

The Pogues of Séan Mac Gowan are singing in your head,

you can’t recall the tunes and the words are all the same.

HER PILLOW and your sound are melting like a flame

but you’re sicked tired of moving, you want to go to bed…

TRUE LOVE BLUE

(Mancuso)

If you went on the shore of the sea at night,

you could hear him singing out that name

‘cause she’s gone away with the wind one night

far away from him and far away from his love…

He will keep on living in the past

as if it were now the day she parted

because he is a prisoner of his heart;

it’ sad the story about the lost of his

True Love Blue.

Gone in the wind on a winter rainy day,

She grabbed his heart like fire near the straw,

Gone in the wind on a sad and dreary way,

She grabbed his heart and he lost his

True Love Blue.

His true love has the blackest hair

and the deepest eyes you had never ever seen.

Her lips so fleshy, the smile so warm

like a flame desire still burns him inside

‘cause the most charming thing through all his life

‘t was in the morning when she was waking

for in that moment the dream came true

as he was close to the body of his

True Love Blue.

Perhaps one day she’ll be coming back

‘cause she had never had intention to fall apart,

and untill that day he’ll be waiting in the hope

that the days will run and the tide will turn.

But now you can find this lonely man

on the shore of the sea singing prayers to hell

‘cause she’s gone away with the wind one night

far away from him and far away from his

True Love Blue.

THE SPIN ROUND SONG

(MancusoMagnasciutti F.)

spin round, spin round, I cant turn away

cant turn around, cant turn around,

so I stay away.

Im carried by the wind,

Ive turned away my eyes from you

Ive poured all my tears

and sinked down that cursed night.

I walked along the shore

and swear Ill never be one again

I picked up all my things,

Im ready to stay away.

Im burning in the sun,

"you spin round" your mother say

I cant touch the ground,

think thick, Im petrified

wonder where Im gone

so close my eyes and let it go

spin round never ends,

I cant turn around

so I stay away.
